In-car infotainment services
The pilot ‘Road Wise', as part of the innovation program ‘Roads to the Future' of the Department of Waterways and Public Works, encompasses a telematics system with mobile equipment and a platform in the vehicle.

This creates the possibility for better traffic management with tailor-made information such as traffic information, navigation and infotainment. The advantage is better information for the driver and less equipment along the roadside.

The technologies applied are:

  • Open Systems Gateway Initiative (OSGi)
  • J2ME, J2EE
  • GPRS/GSM
  • Global Positioning System (GPS)
